Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: Day shift, 4 days per week, 9.5-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 4:30 PM) with a 30-minute break
- Call requirement: 6-9 days of call per month, including 36-hour call shifts, 4-9 hour days, and 24-hour on-call coverage
- Cath Lab operates 24/7 for cardiac emergencies; weekday call from 5:15 PM to 7 AM, weekend call is 24 hours
- Float to nearby campus as needed
- Facility type: Short term acute care hospital, Level II Trauma Center, 426 staffed beds
- Charting system: EPIC
- Scrubs provided
- Free parking available
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, stent implants, IABP, Impella, EKOS, Rotablator, IVUS, FFR, Penumbra, Pericardiocentesis, Shockwave, and IVC filters
- Assist with TEEs and Cardioversions
- Participate in TAVRs and MitraClips procedures in conjunction with hybrid OR
- Patient population primarily adults with diagnoses such as Coronary Artery Disease, Myocardial Infarction, Unstable Angina, Aortic/Mitral Valve Disease, and Peripheral Vascular Disease
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
- Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with recent experience within the last year
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
