Overview

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:15 PM–7:15 AM
Weekly hours: 36
Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit type: High-acuity ICU
Patient ratio: 1:2
Floating: May float to other ICUs and SDUs

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
SICU - Surgical Intensive Care experience
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Experience with Epic
Experience with PA catheters
Experience with balloon pumps
Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy

Preferred Experience

Experience with pulmonary artery catheters and balloon pumps

Clinical Focus

Post-op CABG
Valve replacement/repair
Aortic dissection
IABP
Pulmonary artery catheter management
General post-op surgical recovery
Transplant recovery for liver, heart, lungs, kidney, and pancreas
Continuous renal replacement therapy

Additional Assignment Notes

The unit manager may assign the traveler to an emergency team during an emergency event, with an expectation to remain at the facility or serve on relief as needed
No block scheduling requests
Manager can accommodate either 3x12 or 4x12 schedules
