Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Mid shift, 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM, Monday - Friday
• Call: 1 weekend of call per month (total 2 days)
• Average Daily Cases: 15-18
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week (subject to low census cancellation up to 40 hours per contract)
• Locals: Not accepted within 70-mile radius
• First-timers: Accepted

Unit Procedures & Responsibilities

• Circulating, Level 1, Scrub roles required
• Procedures include:

  • TAVR
  • Right and left heart catheterization
  • Diagnostics
  • Impella insertion
  • ECMO
  • IABP
  • TEE
  • Cardioversion
  • EP Ablations
  • Pacemakers
  • ICD implants
  • Watchman
  • Mitraclips
  • Coronary angiography
  • ECHO
  • Lead extractions and reimplantation

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Certifications

• NIH Stroke Certification
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

• Pending License: Accepted
• RTO (Return to Office) Restrictions: All RTO must be submitted with application; afterward at manager discretion

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 5 years for positives
• Drug screening within 12 months of start
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• COVID vaccination preferred
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start (fit testing done onsite)
• Background check within 12 months including SSN trace, 7-year county and nationwide search, sex offender search
• Various state-specific background checks and registries as required for Missouri

Orientation & Training

• Completion of required facility-specific modules and orientation checklists
• Annual renewal of certain certifications and trainings (e.g., Abiomed Impella Online Training for Cath Lab staff)
• Fit mask testing onsite during first week of orientation
