Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Location: Mission Viejo, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in the Cath Lab with a focus on radiology and cardiology procedures.
  • Call required 8 days per month, scheduled as 4x10 hour shifts.
  • Weekend shifts required at a minimum every other weekend, likely more.
  • Variable shifts scheduled as needed, not rotating.
  • May be required to float to a nearby facility within a 50-mile radius.
  • Strong preference for candidates with electrophysiology (EP) experience.
  • Experience in panning and circulating, ideally in EP and heart cath procedures, is highly desired.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in California.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, with experience within the last year.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Valid Fluoroscopy Permit.
  • Ability to float to other units as needed.
  • On-call required 8 days per month.
  • Weekend work required every other weekend or more.

Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
  • Fluoroscopy Permit
  • California State License for Radiology/Cardiology Tech

Work Environment

  • Acute Care Hospital setting.
  • Total staffed beds: 488.
  • Charting system: Epic.
  • Free parking available.
  • Scrub color and other unit-specific details provided on site.

Additional Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
  • Immunizations/vaccinations including TDAP, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu, and COVID vaccine or declination.
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
  • Fit mask testing required annually.
  • Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years.
  • Completion of required WorkRamp training modules prior to start and annually thereafter.

Scheduling & Floating

  • Call shifts: 4x10 hour shifts with 8 days on-call per month.
  • Weekend shifts required every other weekend or more.
  • Floating to nearby units or facilities may be required.
  • Block scheduling accommodations at manager discretion.

Notes

  • First-time travelers are not accepted.
  • Local radius for floating and assignments is 50 miles.
  • Facility may call off once per two-week pay period.
  • Must comply with all facility-specific and state-specific regulatory and compliance requirements.

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Technologists with strong EP and heart cath experience who are comfortable with call and weekend requirements and able to float within a local region.
