Job Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Floating Expectation: Must float to the Laguna Facility
• Patient Ratios: 1:25
• Weekend Requirement: Weekend rotation required
• License: California state nursing license required; pending license accepted but must be active by start date
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse with acute medical care management experience
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute medical care management performing care coordination
• Travel Experience: Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Current certification from AAP, AHA, or Canadian Pediatric Society
• Other certifications may be required based on unit and clinical track (e.g., Chemotherapy, Electronic Fetal Monitoring, IV Certification, Management of Assaultive Behavior, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; includes SSN trace, death master index, sex offender registry, education verification, motor vehicle record (if applicable), and international background check if applicable
• Education Verification: Required for all candidates; international education requires additional documentation
• References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format; 7 years required for APN/Subcontractors
• Skills Checklist: Required for applicable units and must be updated annually
• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; instant tests not accepted
• Immunizations & Health Documents:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer, boosters or declination accepted
  • Hepatitis B – vaccination series or signed declination
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer, boosters or declination accepted
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required during flu season) or declination
  • COVID-19 Vaccine or declination
• Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024
• Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024; must be updated annually

Training & Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable
• Competency Exams: Required as applicable by specialty
• Color Blind Testing: May be required on a unit basis
• Epic Access Training: Required for SoCal per diem candidates and others as applicable; must complete Epic modules after access is granted
• WorkRamp Modules:

  • Core and specialty-specific modules required annually for travel and per diem staff
  • Modules assigned based on region, specialty, and facility
  • Includes regulatory, specialty, and trauma-informed care training

Additional Notes

• Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; floating to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance may be expected
• Scrub Color: Turquoise or business casual attire
• References and documentation must align with booked specialty
• Candidates must be licensed and compliant with all state and facility-specific requirements prior to start
