Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Mission Viejo, California

Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Floating Expectation: Must float to the Laguna Facility
- Patient Ratios: 1:25
- Weekend Requirement: Weekend rotation required
- License: California state nursing license required; pending license accepted but must be active by start date
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse with acute medical care management experience
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute medical care management performing care coordination
- Travel Experience: Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Current certification from AAP, AHA, or Canadian Pediatric Society
- Other certifications may be required based on unit and clinical track (e.g., Chemotherapy, Electronic Fetal Monitoring, IV Certification, Management of Assaultive Behavior, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; includes SSN trace, death master index, sex offender registry, education verification, motor vehicle record (if applicable), and international background check if applicable
- Education Verification: Required for all candidates; international education requires additional documentation
- References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format; 7 years required for APN/Subcontractors
- Skills Checklist: Required for applicable units and must be updated annually
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; instant tests not accepted
- Immunizations & Health Documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer, boosters or declination accepted
- Hepatitis B – vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer, boosters or declination accepted
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required during flu season) or declination
- COVID-19 Vaccine or declination
- Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024
- Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024; must be updated annually
Training & Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable
- Competency Exams: Required as applicable by specialty
- Color Blind Testing: May be required on a unit basis
- Epic Access Training: Required for SoCal per diem candidates and others as applicable; must complete Epic modules after access is granted
- WorkRamp Modules:
- Core and specialty-specific modules required annually for travel and per diem staff
- Modules assigned based on region, specialty, and facility
- Includes regulatory, specialty, and trauma-informed care training
Additional Notes
- Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; floating to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance may be expected
- Scrub Color: Turquoise or business casual attire
- References and documentation must align with booked specialty
- Candidates must be licensed and compliant with all state and facility-specific requirements prior to start
