Surgery Tech Position
Location: Lafayette, Colorado
Employment Type: Clinical Non-Nursing
Shift: Day shift, 10 hours per day (40 hours per week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure safe and successful operative procedures.
- Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and report to Surgical Services management.
- Support surgical operations initiatives and safety plans system-wide.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accountability for operating room and surgical item sterilization.
- Maintain the sterile field and ensure a safe environment.
- Recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes.
- Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons during procedures within the scope of practice.
- Identify emergency situations and respond appropriately.
- Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for subsequent procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CVOR Technologist license in Colorado
- Minimum 1 year of CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
- Certified Surgical Technologist or NBSTSA certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Graduated from a surgical tech program that is not accredited within the last six months, or possesses two years of scrub tech experience in hospital or military surgical services within the last three years
- Experience as a Surgical Technologist
- Knowledge and practice of environmental safety in surgical settings
- Emergency response skills within surgical care
- Life support skills in surgical care
- Experience with supervision within surgical services
