EEG Technologist 1

Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: Day (Multiple shift options available: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 12:30 PM - 8:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Perform all types of EEGs including ambulatory, bedside, electrical cerebral silence, and standard lab EEGs.
Provide findings, results, and descriptive analysis according to facility policies.
Clean and disinfect equipment using appropriate solutions.
Follow infection control policies.
Document data accurately in patient charts and lab files.
Explain tests and procedures to patients to obtain optimal results.
Notify Neuroscience physician for grossly abnormal EEG tracings.
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, providing age-appropriate instructions and explanations.
Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate repair services as needed.

Required Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED OR 2 years of hands-on EEG/EMU experience.

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of EEG Technologist experience within the last year, including performing electrical cerebral silence EEGs.
