Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Home Hospice

Location

• Waterville, Maine

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Day shift, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), Monday through Friday
• Every other weekend on call, ideally once a month
• Holidays worked in rotation with permanent staff
• Potential call requirement, but minimized when possible

Job Description

• Provide home hospice nursing care in a large service area covering both rural and urban locations
• Must be comfortable with winter driving conditions and using navigation tools
• Nurses are generally assigned within a 1-hour radius, though weather may affect travel times
• Two supervisors available Monday through Friday and on call

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine
• Hospice nursing experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
• Experience in a Home Health setting
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Additional Information

• Patient population: Adults only
• Uniform: Black or khaki pants with white, black, or purple top
• Hospice visits typically earn 4-5 points per day; admissions 2-3 points
• The service area is divided into North and South regions, with up to 2 hours travel between them
