Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab
Location
- Phoenix, Arizona
Job Summary
- Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab RN
- Unit: Cardiac Catheterization Lab (3 main beds, including EP and Hybrid rooms)
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week plus call (6 to 10 call shifts per schedule)
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Holidays: Included in rotation
- Cases per day: 10-25 (interventional cardiology, EP lab, peripherals, mitral clip, TAVR, IABP, and Emtala placement)
- EMR systems: Cerner and Xper
- Equipment: Phillips and Siemens
- Orientation: 2 days floor-specific on the job
- Teaching hospital environment; nursing students may be present
Contract Details
- Minimum contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license in Arizona
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Level I Trauma experience required; Level II trauma experience considered if busy
- Minimum 2 years of core experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or related specialty
- Prior travel experience required for ED and Neuro ICU (not explicitly required for this role)
- Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance (max 2 attempts; failure results in 6-month disqualification within region)
- Must have own vehicle for travel assignments
- No facial piercings and only natural hair colors allowed
- Must complete onboarding by deadline (1 PM CST Wednesday before start)
- Cannot hold concurrent contracts with other employers during assignment
- Must have been off permanent staff assignment with the same health system for 12 months to qualify for travel assignment

- Circulating RN role; techs scrub
- Charge nurse present on unit
- Nurse aides are radiology techs, BLS certified, covering Endo and CVOR
- No ventilators or IV team on unit
- Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
- Parking provided with shuttle service; night shift parking in garage
- Trauma Level: Level I trauma center
- Hospital size: Large tertiary care center with 607 beds
- Specialty services include lung, liver, kidney transplants, and association with a top neuro institute
Orientation & Screening
- Weekly orientations on Mondays (except holidays)
- Medical Solutions pre-screening required; auto offer if recommended
- Must provide detailed profile including unit size, hospital size, trauma level, and EMR experience
