ICU Float Pool RN

Overview

• Location: Phoenix, Arizona
• Assignment length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours
• Hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• 2 years of ICU experience
• Level I trauma experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• Cerner EMR experience
• Must be able to float among all ICU areas and MedSurg/Tele units
• Must be able to float to sister campuses in Glendale and Laveen
• Must have their own vehicle
• Must pass the advanced dysrhythmia exam within 2 attempts
• Must complete onboarding by the stated deadline
• Must be gone from CommonSpirit for 12 months as perm staff to be considered for a travel assignment

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS
• Level I trauma center experience
• Teaching hospital experience

Unit Details

• ICU Float Cluster includes Tower 2, Tower 4, and 4 Neuro
• Tower 2: medical, surgical, and trauma patients; 1:2 ratio
• Tower 4: cardiothoracic ICU specializing in lung transplants and ECMO; 1:2 ratio
• 4 Neuro: neuro-specific ICU; 1:2 ratio
• Tele ratio: 1:4

Schedule and Work Expectations

• 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks
• Holidays required based on unit needs
• No call
• Standby response time: 30 minutes
• Shifts are 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 PM
• Schedule is posted 4 weeks in advance and may change 2 weeks in advance
• Orientation: 2 shifts, with a third shift as needed

Additional Notes

• Weekly orientations are on Mondays except during holiday weeks
• Travelers cannot work another assignment or contract at the same time
• No facial piercings and only natural hair colors
• Travelers may be expected to have nursing students
• All reports are completed at the bedside
• A 2-person skin assessment is completed within the first 4 hours of the shift
