Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Overview

Unit: Labor and Delivery
Number of Beds: 32
Staffing: Approximately 150 staff members
Patient Ratios: 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
Shift Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 co-charge nurse, RNs for 1:1 or 1:2 patient care
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 co-charge nurse, RNs for 1:1 or 1:2 patient care
Equipment Used: Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, Ultrasound
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Permanent Positions Available: Yes

Job Description

Backfill travel contract for Labor and Delivery unit
No call requirements
Typical procedures include spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVD), cerclages, C-sections, and trial of labor after cesarean (TOLAC)
Night shift with alternating weekends

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Work Environment & Culture

Team-oriented with emphasis on positive attitude
Dress code requires navy blue scrubs; solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts allowed; T-shirts are not acceptable
Adherence to attendance policy is mandatory
