Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Location

Santa Fe, New Mexico

Employment Type

Travel contract
Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Full-time
Weekend on-call as needed
On-call as needed
Floating between locations required

Patient Population & Care Setting

Post cardiac catheterization and post-surgical patients
Patients on high-risk medications including Cardizem, heparin, nitroglycerin, insulin, ketamine, and lidocaine drips
Respiratory patients on non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) such as BiPAP and AirVo
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5
Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC

Job Summary

Coordinate and implement patient care specific to the age and needs of the patient population on assigned units
Ensure quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards
Demonstrate professionalism and respect toward staff, physicians, patients, and families
Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and modify individualized care plans
Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning
Perform point-of-care testing procedures

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum of 1 year telemetry experience within the last year

Licenses & Certifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
