Position Details

• Location: Asheville, NC (Mission Hospital, Main Campus, 2nd Floor, D2 Unit)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: D2 (Inpatient overflow unit)
• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Population: Mixed level of care including medical-surgical and step-down patients; short stay patients (<24 hr length of stay)
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6 (stretch), depending on level of care
• Typical Procedures: Telemetry monitoring (all telemetry patients are hardwired to bedside monitors)
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs
• Work Environment: Quick turnover, telemetry equipment used

Required Skills and Experience

• Must Have:

  • Telemetry competency
  • Progressive care experience
• Preferred:

  • Recent progressive care experience

Certifications and Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Valid Registered Nurse License

Additional Information

• Floating: Travelers may be required to float to other units as needed
• Dress Code: Navy and/or white top, navy bottom, or all white scrubs
• Schedule: Every other weekend required; no on-call required
