Overview
- Travel/contract RN role in Wilmington, North Carolina
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Local candidates accepted
Setting
- ED holding support position in the float pool
- Patients are adult medical/surgical cases; PCU-level patients may also be assigned
- Expected to float to ED and MedSurg areas as needed
- Mixed high-acuity unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Float (2 years of experience)
- Float experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ED - Emergency Department experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Schedule and Assignment Details
- Target ratios: 1:6 for MS/Tele or 1:4 for PCU-level patients
- Every other weekend required
- RTO after booking is not allowed; additional RTO or call-offs may lead to cancellation and DNR
- May be assigned to storm team, hurricane team, or disaster coverage
- Consolidation to a centralized office may occur mid-contract
- Manager schedules the shifts

- Accessing ports
- Central line blood draws
- Starting IVs

- Pre/post neuro surgery
- Spinal cord injuries
- Traumatic brain injury
- Ortho trauma
- Total joint replacements
- Wound care/wound vac
Work Environment
- Navy scrubs
- Standard equipment, cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and other monitoring systems used
- Medication/documentation/communication systems include Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR
