Job Overview

  • Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Start date: ASAP, about 4 weeks from offer
  • Ratios: 1:2
  • Weekend requirement: Must be flexible; scheduled based on unit needs
  • On-call: Not required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon
  • Trauma ICU experience within the last year
  • 1 year of Trauma ICU experience
  • 2 or more completed travel assignments
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Previous Trauma experience
  • CVICU experience
  • Experience with Epic
  • Current ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network
  • Current BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network
  • Current NIHSS
  • Must have certifications in hand before the start date

  • Experience with trauma care

Clinical Setting

  • Float between CVICU and NTICU
  • May also float to telemetry, acute care, observation, and ED boarding
  • Unit handles a broad ICU population including medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma patients

Common Procedures / Skills

  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Multi-system organ failure
  • Cardiac cath/intervention support
  • IV insulin protocols
  • Renal failure care
  • Arterial line, central line, and PICC management
  • IV starts
  • Continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation
  • Cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
  • BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator, and high-flow nasal cannula support
  • Chest tube insertion/removal support
  • ABG interpretation
  • Suctioning and infection prevention
  • Wound care with drains/wound vac
  • Temporary pacer management
