Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Technologist - General

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday
Night shift: 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
On-call rotation: 2 days per week and every other weekend
Must be able to respond to call within 30 minutes

Job Summary

Provide quality ultrasound imaging to assist in patient diagnosis and care
Support Radiologists during exams
Work performed in hospital setting including department, surgery, emergency department, and patient floors

Required Qualifications

Graduation from an Ultrasound or Sonography program
Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with experience within the last year
Certifications: ARDMS and ARRT
Must hold a valid Arkansas state license for Ultrasound Technologist
Primary source verification required (original transcripts and Arkansas Department of Health verification)

Physical Demands

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds using proper body mechanics
Must have keen hearing and visual acuity
Ability to handle critical and highly stressful situations with composure

Compliance and Background Requirements

Government-issued photo ID required
Social Security card copy required
E-Verify or attestation required
7-year background check required within 6 months of start; annual updates required for direct candidates
Additional background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, sex offender search, state-specific criminal history, and education verification required within 30 days of start

Certifications and Competencies

Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA approved (Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA approved (Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
Other certifications (PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification) as applicable
Competency exams required within 1 year of start
Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required and updated annually

Health and Immunization Requirements

Physical exam required within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 1 year of start; annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status
Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination accepted)
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
Seasonal influenza vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
COVID-19 vaccination documentation required; exemptions or declinations must be communicated to credentialing
Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen required within 30 days of start; must have plan for completion within 72 hours of contract signing

Facility-Specific Requirements

Review and comply with personal appearance and dress code policies prior to start
Complete new employee and contract personnel pre-screening compliance checklist
Complete TB questionnaire regardless of TB test result
Complete required facility-specific forms including confidentiality, code of conduct, information security, and orientation documents prior to start

References and Work History

Two professional references required within 2 years (acceptable up to 3 years)
Work history verification required for the past 2 years
Resume or employment application copy required
Skills checklist required and updated annually
