Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks (preferred; minimum 13 weeks accepted)
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Patient Ratio: 1:2

Job Description

High acuity Cardiac ICU (CVICU) requiring prior CVICU experience.
Care for patients with complex cardiac conditions including acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, post cardiac arrest, complete heart block, cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, ventricular tachycardia, and pre-heart transplant care.
Management of advanced cardiac devices and interventions such as arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheters, pacemakers, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impellas, LVADs, and vasoactive drips.
Ventilator management, central line care, dialysis, and Foley catheter management.
Floating within the service line may be required.
Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
No on-call duties.
Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility (locals not accepted).
Pending license accepted.
Time off allowed: up to 2 requests totaling no more than 40 hours (5 days) during the contract.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Missouri
Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
BLS certification
Must pass Relias EKG (Dysrhythmia) competency exam prior to start
