Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Longmont, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Work Days: All days of the week, including weekends (weekend work required)
  • Patient Care Ratio:
    • Labor & Delivery: 1:1 to 1:2
    • Couplet care: 1:3
  • Unit Description: Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit with 6 LDR rooms, 10 postpartum beds (with ability to swing 2 to LDR), 2 ORs, OB Emergency Department, and 6 Special Care Nursery beds
  • Float Requirement: Yes, float within OB units as needed
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Scrub Color: Green
  • Patient Population:
    • Antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum care
    • Cesarean sections performed by OBs and Certified Nurse Midwives
    • Care for higher-risk mothers (e.g., on Magnesium sulfate, preterm labor)
    • Special Care Nursery to 34 weeks gestation

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year
  • AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse license for Colorado
  • Clear copy of Driver’s License/State ID (front and back)
  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year background check (including SSN trace, Colorado state and national checks)
    • Education verification from accredited nursing schools (CCNE or ACEN)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Employment and work history verification for the last 3 years (gaps >30 days must be explained)
  • Two professional references from the last two years (one from the past year), preferably from Charge RN, Manager, or Supervisor
  • Employment application with current contact information

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA (not Chiropractor)
  • Fit mask test within 12 months (3M 1860S, 1860R, or 1870/1870+ masks accepted)
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tdap within 10 years or signed declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (including True 2-Step PPD or equivalent)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity by titer or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B immunity by titer, vaccine series, or declination
    • Varicella immunity by titer or vaccination
  • COVID-19 vaccination proof or signed declination (acceptable vaccines: AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna)
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start and annually thereafter (specific panel required)
  • Color blindness testing via Ishihara exam (online testing not accepted)

Competency Requirements

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (updated annually)
  • Core competency exams (Parts I, II, III) with minimum 80% score, updated annually
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (updated annually)
  • OSHA mandatory training (updated annually)

Additional Information

  • Maximum of 10 return-to-office (RTO) days allowed, with blackout periods during late June to early July, early September, and late October to early November 2026
