Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER (Travel/Contract)

Location: Sacramento, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:45 - 7:15)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Requires 1 year of nursing experience with a preference for Trauma Level I experience.
• Candidates with 2 or more years of ER experience may be accepted even if they are first-time travelers.
• Work environment includes Trauma Level I adult and pediatric patients, homeless population, high volume psychiatric cases, sepsis, and stroke patients.
• Patient volume highlights:

  • Neonatal/pediatric visits: ~1000/month
  • Pediatric admissions: 18-20%
  • Overall admission rate: 30%
• Unit details: Fast Track - Rapid Care, OBS Holding (30-40 patients), multiple pods including MS Tele Psych Holding, ED ICU, and designated hallway patients during COVID.
• Facility is a Magnet recognized hospital.
• Nurses will care for patients with PCA pumps (staff manage pumps).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year required.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience working with Level I Trauma patients.
• Certifications issued by the American Heart Association:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
