Float nurse assigned to Behavioral Health (BH), Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and some post-procedural areas as needed
Patient ratio approximately 1:6
Unit bed size: 130
Telemetry duties including reading EKG/ECG rhythm strips and dysrhythmia reads
Experience with drips: heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, digoxin
EMR system: EPIC
Workweek: 36-40 hours standard; overtime billable after 40 hours
On-call and charge/precept pay available (details excluded per instructions)

Minimum 24 months of experience in Stepdown, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, or combined Med Surg/Telemetry units
Must be able to confidently read EKG/ECG and perform all telemetry-related duties
Proficiency with specified drips (heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, digoxin)
Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of application
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification from AHA or ARC
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA or ARC
Valid driver’s license
Skills checklist specific to Med Surg, Tele, or Med/Tele discipline required
Must complete Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment with a passing score of 80% during onboarding

De-escalation certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, CPI) – can be obtained during onboarding
NIH Stroke Scale certificate – can be obtained during onboarding
Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred

First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of nursing experience (hospital/medical center experience prioritized)
Orientation scheduled (date not included here)
Must be willing and able to float to multiple units as needed
