Job Overview
- Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
- Location: Phoenix, AZ
- Unit: General OR
- Unit size: 11 beds total (9 Regular, 1 Trauma, 1 Urgent)
- Cases per day: Approximately 30
- Shift: Day shift, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (10 hours/day)
- Hours per week: 40
- Weekend/on-call: Rotate with staff; one weekend per month on call and one night per week as needed
- Floating: Possible to Lithotripsy or other campuses if skilled
- EMR systems: Cerner and Surginet
- Team composition: Weekday team includes 1 RN and 1 CST; weekend team includes RN, CST, and huck (one each)
- Scrub color: Provided
- RT and Pharmacy coverage: 24/7

Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license valid in Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of core OR nursing experience (Level 1 Trauma and teaching experience required)
- BLS certification required
- Robotics experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance (max 2 attempts) for applicable units (including OR)
- Must pass Day 1 pass/fail SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion (OR nurses exempt from central line dressing change SIMs)
- Competency in sterile field maintenance, Foley catheter insertion, lifts, restraints, and wound care expected
- No facial piercings and only natural hair colors allowed
- Must have own vehicle for travel teams
- Candidates must not hold concurrent contracts or assignments
- Must have been off permanent staff at this health system for at least 12 months to qualify for travel assignment
- Minimum contract length: 13 weeks
Orientation & Onboarding
- One-week floor-specific orientation
- Weekly orientations on Mondays (except holidays)
- Onboarding paperwork must be completed by 1 PM CST Wednesday before start date; incomplete files will delay start
- Day 1 pass/fail exam during orientation (details provided separately)
Additional Notes
- Open to first-time travelers
- Trauma, ortho trauma, and general OR experience are essential
- Parking assigned with shuttle service; night shift parking in garage
- Charge nurse role available
- CSTs available on unit
- No local pay rates; 50-mile radius rule applies
