Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Care

Location: Bloomington, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Schedule: Rotating nights, weekends, and holidays; included in holiday and weekend rotation

Unit Overview

Inpatient acute care, 32 beds (all private rooms)
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3-4
Unit cares for patients with a wide range of medical conditions including COPD, CHF, Diabetes, sepsis, renal issues, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, respiratory conditions, neuro/surgical/cardiac patients
Procedures and equipment include care for patients with Bipap, Cpap, tracheostomies, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, ablation/cath lab patients, dialysis
EMR system: EPIC
Medication dispensing system: Pyxis
Dress code: Scrubs, any color

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
Intermediate Care (2 years of experience)
Intermediate Care experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Comfort with chest tubes

Additional Information

Travel RNs are the first to float and will take assignments appropriate to their level of care experience
Typical patient assignments: ICU (2 patients), General Medical floors (5-6 patients)
