ICU (Intensive Care Unit) RN

Location

• Chandler, Arizona

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Nights
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license: Arizona or compact license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• 3 years of recent ICU experience
• Experience must include either neuro or CV
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam before acceptance, with 2 maximum attempts

Preferred

• TNCC
• Level 1 trauma experience
• Neuro experience
• Prior experience in a similar-sized ICU

Unit Details

• ICU assignment based in a Surgical ICU / Trauma Neuro Surgery unit
• 32 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:2 and 1:1
• Medical Cardiac + Overflow ICU: 36-bed medical cardiac unit plus 12-bed overflow unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:2 and 1:1

Responsibilities and Clinical Environment

• RN interprets own telemetry strips
• RN titrates drips
• Charge nurse does not take patients
• No monitor techs on unit
• RT in ICU 24/7
• Self-scheduling
• May have 1 holiday off during the assignment
• No additional call or standby shifts required
• May be low censused up to 3 times per contract
• Navy scrubs

Float Scope

• May float to tele
• May float to sister ICU units, including Mercy Gilbert if needed
• Expected to float between all 3 ICUs
• First to float
