Location: Frankfort, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D), Level 2 NICU/Newborn Nursery, Mother-Baby (MB)
Beds: 7 L&D, 14 MB
Staff: 58 total
Shift Staffing:
- Day: 6-8 RNs, 1 Obstetric Technician (OBT), 1 unit clerk
- Night: 5-8 RNs, 1 OBT, 1 unit clerk
Patient Ratios:
- L&D: 2:1
- MB: 6-8:1
- NICU: 1-4:1 (acuity dependent)
Equipment: Alaris pumps, Corometrics 250 Fetal Monitor, Monica monitor, Ranger fluid warmer
EMR Systems: Meditech Expanse, Centricity Perinatal (CPN)

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kentucky
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN

Preferred Qualifications

More than 5 years of Labor & Delivery experience

Typical Procedures

Vaginal deliveries
Cesarean sections
Induction of labor (Cook catheter, Cervidil, Oxytocin)
Intrauterine fetal demise (IUFD) care
IV insertion, lab draws
Sterile vaginal exams
Assisting with epidurals
Foley catheter insertion

Work Schedule & Environment

Every other weekend on call (Friday and Saturday night)
Scrubs provided for infant security
