Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel Assignment
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (1900-0730)
Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)

Unit & Patient Care Information
- Telemetry Unit with 32 beds
- Patient ratios on nights approximately 1:6 to 1:8
- Patient population includes cardiac telemetry patients with CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (AFib, flutter, SVT), respiratory, renal, and hemodialysis patients
- Also cares for overflow patients with sepsis, urology, surgical cases, alcohol/drug withdrawal (CIWA protocol), isolation, and GI bleeds
- Equipment includes lift equipment, bladder scanner, interpreter iPad, BiPAP monitoring
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
- Fast-paced, high acuity cardiac telemetry unit with monitor tech support and tele monitors at nurse stations
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Tikosyn and Sotalol initiation
- Familiarity with dopamine, dobutamine, lidocaine, nitroglycerin, milrinone drips
- Experience managing chest tubes and other drains
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Utilize the nursing process to coordinate care with ancillary departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Work within the scope of nursing practice and applicable state nursing regulations
- Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
- Participate in orientation on day shift prior to night shift assignment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk most of the shift; frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Exposure to blood and body fluids is a high-risk factor
- Must be able to work varying schedules and shifts as required by patient care needs
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations not accepted
- Weekend hours required approximately every other weekend
- No call requirements
- Dress code: Black scrub tops and pants; tops must have facility logo on left chest; undershirts allowed in black, white, yellow, green, red, or blue
