Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Department: Emergency Department (ED)
• Unit Size: 101 beds
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
• Staffing: Techs available; work includes cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks (days and nights)
• Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Scheduling: Every other weekend; no block scheduling; must meet department needs
• Floating Policy: No floating outside ED; must float within all ED sections
• Patient Experience: AIDET communication, respectful behavior, ongoing patient updates

Required Certifications (Must have before start date)

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• TNCC
• CPI
• NIHSS
• ENPC (within 90 days of hire)

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency Department
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years as a nurse, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Additional Experience: 2 years’ experience in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center with a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits)
• Preferred: Previous experience with HCA Healthcare system
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
