Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Tele Float
Location: Los Angeles, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Patient Population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
Unit Details:
- Average census: 36 patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
- Every other weekend coverage required
- No on-call requirement
- Scrub color: Royal Blue
Job Description
- Must have minimum 3 years of RN experience.
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required.
- Ventilator experience is mandatory (hard stop).
- Experience with telemetry and med-surg competencies, specifically orthopedics and simple gynecological procedures (e.g., hysterectomies, myomectomies).
- Total joint orthopedic experience required.
- May be required to float to other units.
- Must be able to read cardiac strips.
- Care for general medical-surgical patients and moderate volume orthopedic surgical cases in a telemetry setting.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Ventilator (vent) experience
- Orthopedics experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
