RRT Travel Contract

Overview

• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36 per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Military
• Education verification related to the specialty
• Background check
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days
• Physical exam within 1 year
• TB screening within 1 year
• Tdap within the last 10 years
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity documentation or vaccination history
• Hepatitis B vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination
• Flu vaccine or approved flu exemption during flu season

Schedule Requirements

• Nights required
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• Floating within scope as needed
• No block scheduling
• No on-call

Work Setting

• Short-term acute care
• Level III trauma center
• Teaching hospital
• Must be comfortable working with adults and children in ICU
• Must be comfortable working with pediatric and adult patients

Additional Notes

• Local candidates are not accepted within a 50-mile radius of the main campus
• Pending license is not accepted
• Return travelers must be away for 1 year before returning
• Assignment extensions are limited to 2 contracts total, with only 1 extension allowed before a 6-month break is required
• Only 4 days of requested time off are allowed, and holidays are not permitted
