Job Opportunity: Case Manager

Location: Everett, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (7:30 AM - 5:30 PM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2-week period
Locals Accepted: No

Job Description

  • Role requires experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Social Worker (MSW).
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in the specialty.
  • First-time travelers are accepted.
  • Acute Care experience is required.
  • Experience in Discharge Planning and Care Coordination is required.
  • Strong preference for candidates with diverse Case Management experience, including Medical-Surgical, Long Length of Stay (LLOS), and Emergency Department (ED).
  • Floating between units is required; candidate will work in all areas of the hospital including multiple nearby campuses.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Washington
  • Case Management experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Acute Care experience
  • Discharge Planning experience

Certifications (as applicable)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - may be required depending on unit
  • Other certifications (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM) may be required based on specific unit assignment; verify with clinical track or unit requirements

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (as applicable)
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start; updated monthly
  • Education verification required for all candidates; international education requires diploma/transcript
  • State-specific searches and registry checks as required by Washington state law
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/subcontractors)
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
  • Work history verification required if reference exceptions are requested

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required for travel candidates; must be updated annually
  • Immunizations and screenings:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer; declination accepted
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer; declination accepted
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow masking policies
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; does not require annual update

Training and Competency

  • Annual regulatory training modules required via LMS (Workramp), including:
    • All caregivers annual regulatory requirements
    • System specialty-specific modules (e.g., Hospice, ER, L&D)
    • Regional core and specialty-specific modules as applicable
    • Annual ADA module for patient-facing staff at specific facilities
  • Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

Additional Notes

  • Floating policy acknowledgment required; candidate may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
  • Pending licenses accepted.
  • Candidates must submit all required documentation and attestations prior to start.
  • Background and credentialing requirements are strictly enforced; open/active felony cases or multiple DUI charges will result in cancellation.
  • Locals are not accepted for this assignment.
