Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (LTC)

Location

  • Vestal, New York

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 16 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Shift: Evening, 8-hour shifts (14:30 - 22:45)
  • 4-5 days per week, 40 hours weekly
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required upon center request
  • Shift and schedule cannot be changed once offered
  • No call-outs without more than 24 hours’ notice
  • No shift trades or requests off (RTO) allowed after offer acceptance

Facility & Patient Population

  • 300-bed long-term care facility including rehabilitation therapies, skilled nursing, memory care, and wound care
  • Patient population includes Alzheimer's and Dementia patients
  • Night shift is slower paced
  • No medication passes required

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or recent experience in related specialties such as rehab, med-surg, or hospital settings
  • BLS certification (accepted from any recognized entity; online-only courses acceptable)
  • Must hold a valid New York State RN license (hard copy required at submission; no license hits allowed)
  • Proof of license must be provided at time of submission

Certifications & Training

  • BLS required
  • ACLS and PALS as applicable
  • Harassment Prevention Training Certificate required for subcontractors
  • Facility-specific Relias modules must be started immediately upon offer acceptance and completed at least 3 days before assignment start date; passing grade required (80% minimum, 90% on medication exam for nurses)
  • Additional modules may be assigned after start date and must be completed by assigned due dates

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (front copy)
  • Background check within 12 months, including 7-year location history and sex offender search
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
  • Physical exam within 1 year, completed within 48-72 hours of contract signing
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific guidelines for BCG vaccine recipients)
  • Annual TB questionnaire required
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccinations or positive titer; booster if low titer)
  • Hepatitis B proof preferred but not required
  • Varicella vaccination or declination recommended but not required
  • Flu vaccine or declination required year-round; declination requires mask wearing during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination required (all declinations accepted)
  • Pneumonia vaccination proof or declination required
  • Drug screening not required by facility but required for direct candidates (negative 9-panel within 1 year; instant acceptable)

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references required within 2 years of start (supervisors preferred)
  • Resume/application required
  • Fingerprinting required for CNAs (facility coordinated; not applicable for RN role)
  • Free parking available
  • Attire: Any solid color scrubs and closed-toe shoes
  • Charting system: PCC (Point Click Care), but submission not required
