Job Description

  • Outpatient Mammography Technician
  • Staff are cross-utilized; mammographers provide X-ray coverage during X-ray technologist lunch breaks
  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
  • Total hours per week: 40

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Mammography Technologist license in California
  • Minimum 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT Mammography (ARRT M) certification
  • ARRT Radiography (ARRT R) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC only)

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and international search if applicable
  • FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
  • EPLS, GSA, SAM, HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to California law)
  • Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps; employment verification required for up to 7 years
  • Two professional references required (within 3 years) for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates

Certifications and Verifications

  • State professional license copy and primary source verification within 30 days of start
  • National technician certification verification required within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or failed tests)
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination per protocol
    • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series (declination allowed with signed form)
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination per protocol
