- Night shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
Job Summary
- Provide safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care in a progressive care unit.
- Accountable for a group of patients, focusing on quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise licensed and non-licensed staff.
- Apply evidence-based practice and participate in Practice Governance.
- Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Mentor and precept staff members.
- Promote patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments; make sound independent decisions.
- Initiate, prioritize, and implement care plans; collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
- Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during stay and at discharge.
- Delegate tasks appropriately; foster teamwork and mentor staff.
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
- Implement practice changes as part of continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Acute care experience
