Registered Nurse - Stepdown
Overview
- Location: New York, New York
- Contract length: 9 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Hours per week: 34.5
- Schedule note: Every other weekend required
Role Summary
Provides safe, competent nursing care to a designated group of patients using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and approved nursing standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Stepdown experience within the last year
- 2 years of Stepdown experience
- BLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Cardiology experience
- Telemetry experience
- Quality improvement experience
Preferred Qualifications
- EPIC experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs
- Deliver and coordinate patient care with the interdisciplinary team
- Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, transitions of care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Support patient experience through bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and discharge wrap-up
- Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and safety initiatives
