Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health (Travel/Contract)

Location: Greensburg, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Overview

• Position requires the ability to float to a nearby facility as needed.
• Must have an active nursing license in hand prior to start.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Compliance and Background Checks

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Background checks within 30 days of start including:

  • Social Security trace and county searches for last 7 years.
  • Nationwide and sex offender registry.
  • Pennsylvania statewide background check.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start.
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start.
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprint results required prior to start.
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required for all candidates.
• Facility-specific documents and forms must be completed prior to start, including:

  • Emergency contact form
  • Orientation checklist
  • Pandemic attestation
  • Code of conduct
  • Confidentiality agreement
  • Disclosure statement
  • Assessment of patient policy, interdisciplinary plans of care, skin integrity, mobility, catheter training, and cardiac procedure education binder (all must be completed with 100% passing quiz scores).
• Photo for badge required.

Additional Information

• Two professional references required within 3 years of start (for travel, allied, or per diem acute care).
• Must complete skills checklist annually.
• Religious and medical COVID-19 exemptions require formal documentation.
• All RN and LPN candidates on telemetry units must complete competency assessments and bring forms to orientation.
