Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER (Emergency Room)

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Patient Population: Infants to Geriatrics
• Unit Type: General Emergency Room
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
• Unit Size: 46 rooms, average daily census of 135 patients
• Electronic Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes, may float to a sister campus
• Call Requirements: None
• Holiday Work:

  • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
  • If 2 major holidays, expected to work both
  • If 3 major holidays, expected to work 2 of them
• Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical Exam: Required within 12 months prior to start
• Immunizations/Vaccinations:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with specific protocols if positive history)
  • TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster protocols if needed
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster protocols if needed
  • Hepatitis B: Surface antibody titer or signed declination
  • Flu Vaccine or Declination (required during flu season)
  • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) highly recommended but not required
• Drug Screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
• Compliance: Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling

Orientation and Onboarding

• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
• Orientation includes review and signing of facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy

Additional Notes

• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Floating may include coverage at a nearby campus
• No call responsibilities during assignment
• Agency offers profile review within 48 hours of candidate confirmation to ensure fit with unit/schedule/expertise
