Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Unit: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
  • Orientation held twice a month
  • Float within scope of care/practice
  • Patient ratio: 1:6
  • Minimum 4 weekend shifts per month required
  • No local candidates accepted
  • Auto offer with no return to origin (RTO)

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Arizona
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Required Health Documents & Immunizations

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by physician, NP, or PA
  • Fit testing for N95 mask within 1 year of start
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within past 10 years (declinations allowed except for certain units)
  • Negative TB test (QuantiFERON Gold, Tspot, or PPD) within 3 months of start, renewed annually
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (declinations allowed with signed form)
    • Varicella
  • Drug testing: 12-panel within 30 days of start, must be started within 72 hours of booking
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30) or approved medical/religious exemption with facility-specific form

Background & Employment History Requirements

  • Background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and 7-year work/life history
  • 2 professional references from employment within last 3 years (1 must be supervisory)
  • Employment application with last 7 years of work history; gaps of 30+ days must be explained
  • Skills checklist updated annually

Additional Information

  • EPIC experience required
  • Full contract length commitment required
  • Candidates must acknowledge orientation safety manual and pass facility-specific job description review
  • Pass/fail testing during orientation with remediation and retesting if needed; failure may result in contract cancellation
