Role Highlights

  • Pediatric OR experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to scrub and circulate.
  • On-call coverage is required for nights and weekends, averaging about one 12-hour on-call shift per week.
  • Level 1 trauma experience is not required.
  • Blocked scheduling may be accommodated, but flexibility is needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
  • Pediatrics OR - Operating Room experience
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • 14-plate Ishihara color blind exam
  • Unit-specific competency exam
  • Core Part I, Core Part II, Core Part III
  • OSHA Mandatory
  • 2 professional references, including 1 from a direct supervisor
  • Unit-specific skills checklist
  • Employment application
  • Criminal background check within 6 months of start, including:
    • 7-year search
    • all alias searches
    • county searches
    • national sex offender search
  • State license verification within 30 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • N95 mask fit testing within 1 year of start
  • Tdap within 10 years of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • Measles immunity documentation
  • Mumps immunity documentation
  • Rubella immunity documentation
  • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination documentation
  • Varicella immunity documentation
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
