Night shift, 18:45 to 07:15 (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
36 hours per week
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
No call requirement
Float requirement: May be required to float to a nearby main campus (~32 minutes away)

Common patient diagnoses include diabetes, dementia, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, hip fracture, congestive heart failure, urinary tract infections, renal failure, hypertension, cellulitis, failure to thrive, and various surgical recovery cases.

Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
Unit uses Pyxis medication system
Self-scheduling
24-hour unit orientation provided
Scrubs: Navy blue or white
Must be able to work holidays
No block schedules except weekend blocks allowed
Must participate in Storm/Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events or disasters

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Management of dysrhythmias
Use of Rapid Response and Code teams
Colostomy/ileostomy management and care
Pre/Post hemodialysis management
Central line blood draws
PICC line management
Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) management
Chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac)
BiPAP/CPAP management and maintenance
High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) management
