Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 10-hour shift every 2 weeks)
- On-Call Requirement: 1 shift per week plus every 4th weekend on call
- Weekend Requirement: Some Saturdays required as part of regular 4-day schedule
- Floating: May float within scope to Interventional Radiology (IR) and Electrophysiology (EP)
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
- Time Off: One time off request per 13-week assignment, approved individually
Unit Information
- Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath procedures including STEMI, IABP, Impella, Tandem Heart, Structural Heart (PFO, TAVR, Mitral Clip)
- Interventional Radiology: Lines, drains, embolizations, fistulas, stroke thrombectomy
- Neurointervention and CRM device implants
- Required experience in EP, IR, vascular, monitoring, and neuro procedures
Preferred Skills
- CTO, peripherals, venous access, rhythm interpretation
- Experience with Philips X-Ray system, atherectomy and thrombectomy devices
- Temporary LVAD support
- Familiarity with McKesson for Cath Lab and MacLab/Cardio Lab for EP
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Experience as an Electrophysiology Technician
- Experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Experience as a Vascular Technologist
- Experience as a Monitor Technician
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ARRT (R) or RCIS certification required for Cath Lab

- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- E-Verify attestation
- Education verification (degree/diploma/transcript as applicable)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Drug screening: 9-panel within 12 months (instant acceptable)
- Respirator medical clearance (RespSafety) required for travel candidates, updated annually
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps/overlaps
Training & Competency Requirements
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
- Color blindness testing if required by unit
- Epic training modules completion required

- Candidates may be required to float to other facilities within reasonable distance
- Radiation badges issued by facility as applicable
- Background checks and state-specific searches required as per state law
