Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts (day/night rotating shifts, 7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm)
• Shift rotation may be required to meet hospital operational needs
• Must work at least every other holiday
• Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication administration exam (passing scores required)

Required Experience

• Minimum 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Minimum 18 months permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Valid Ohio RN license or compact state license in hand
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 1.5 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

• Candidates must complete facility-specific online training modules prior to start
• SafeMedicate prep materials provided for orientation exam
• Candidates must be prepared for potential shift rotation and holiday work
• Competency exams and orientation requirements are mandatory for all bedside RNs (except OR RNs)
• Candidates with gaps in employment may need to repeat onboarding modules depending on length of gap
• Fingerprinting must be completed both through agency and facility processes
• Medical and religious exemptions for vaccines require agency approval and facility review

Summary

This is a travel contract RN position in Med/Surg Telemetry requiring at least 18 months of recent and permanent experience in the specialty, valid Ohio or compact RN license, and current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks with 12-hour rotating shifts. Candidates must meet comprehensive health, background, and competency requirements prior to starting.
