Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - North Carolina

Location: Jefferson, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (option to sign 36 or 48-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 48 hours
Patient Ratio: 1:6
Scheduling: Self-schedule
Float Requirement: No (may occasionally work as sitter or monitor tech)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; includes 2 shifts plus one day of on-site training with educator
Unit Systems: Meditech, SBAR, Omnicell
Scrubs: Navy color required

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Compliance & Background Checks

Background checks required within 90 days of start, including:
- Local County, Federal Court, National Criminal Database, DOJ Sex Offender Search
- Education verification for highest degree earned specific to nursing profession
Drug screening required within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result)
North Carolina state-specific searches required within 90 days prior to start:
- Division of Medical Assistance Excluded Providers List
- NC Health Care Personnel Registry

Health & Immunization Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year of start (within 30 days if past positive TB)
Fit mask testing required (N95 mask within 1 year or PAPR training; PAPR not accepted in this facility)
Immunizations or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (no specific timeframe)
- Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 1 year) or chest x-ray if positive TB history
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if negative/equivocal
