Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday off
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Job Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care Case Management experience, with experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required for all candidates
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – may be required depending on unit
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, Chemotherapy, etc.) may be required or preferred based on unit assignment
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated every 30 days
- Education verification through a third-party vendor (BSN preferred; ASN required if no BSN)
- Abuse registry search required only for certain units (e.g., behavioral health)
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 12 months attesting ability to meet job demands
- Immunizations and titers including Tdap, TB (2-step PPD or Qgold), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and seasonal flu vaccine (no exemptions allowed)
- Drug screening within 2 months of start, updated annually (10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl)
- Other:
- Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
Additional Information
- Fingerprinting required for behavioral health and certain units; must be completed prior to start
- Pass/Fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions and mother-baby units
- Professional appearance guidelines must be reviewed and acknowledged
- Fit testing required for patient-facing clinical roles, completed onsite if needed
- Candidates with latex allergy must complete a specific questionnaire
- Performance and internal evaluations required if previously worked with the agency over 1 year
