Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
  • Daily Caseload: Approximately 25 patients
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Weekend Requirement: Not specified
  • On-call Requirement: No
  • Floating: No floating within or to sister facilities
  • Block Scheduling: Possible at manager’s discretion
  • Locals Accepted: Yes
  • Guaranteed Hours: Subject to billing rules

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Special Procedures Technologist license in Virginia (permanent license required; temporary VA license not accepted)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Special Procedures Technologist, with experience within the last year
  • ARRT certification
  • BLS (AHA provider card only)

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Background Checks:
    • Lifetime background check within 1 year prior to start (includes SSN trace, criminal searches, education verification, etc.)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Health Requirements:
    • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
    • Fit mask (N95) with annual update required
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
    • Annual TB questionnaire if history of positive TB
    • Immunizations or immunity verification for: Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
    • Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (specific panels required)
    • Flu vaccination documentation required during flu season (9/1 - 3/31) or approved medical/religious exemption
    • COVID vaccination documentation recommended but not required
  • Facility-Specific Documents:
    • Code of Conduct Acknowledgment
    • Confidentiality and Security Agreement
    • Epic Experience Screening Form (time sensitive)
    • WorkRamp Modules (orientation and competency training)
    • Job Description form
    • Orientation Packet & Acknowledgement Form

References & History

  • Two references required:
    • One from current year of assignment
    • One within last two years
    • Must be from a manager, supervisor, team leader, Charge RN, or MD/DO/PA who directly supervised the candidate
    • References from this facility or system are not accepted; must be from outside facilities
  • Employment application and work history verification (minimum 2 years) required
  • Skills checklist required for all clinical candidates

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • No prior travel experience explicitly required
  • Floating and block scheduling subject to manager discretion
  • Candidates can renew BLS onsite if needed (responsible for fees and scheduling on day off)
