Job Details

• Emergency Department (ED) nurse for a 24-bed unit
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights (7p-7a)
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3 to 1:5
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: Rotating holidays
• Charge nurse role: Yes, but not assigned to travelers
• Floor-specific orientation provided
• Telemetry skills required (ability to read cardiac strips)
• Experience with drips and ventilators needed
• EMR system: EPIC
• Hospitalist and Respiratory Therapist available 24/7
• No floating requirement
• Scrub color: Any

Patient Population & Environment

• Emergency Department serving all ages
• New York State Designated Stroke Center
• Medium-sized facility located about 2 hours from New York City

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Additional Notes

• Nurse aides are available on the unit
• No IV team or 24/7 pharmacy coverage
• Prior travel experience is not specified as required
