Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse

Job Description

• Primarily infusion nursing with approximately 70% oncology-based therapy and 30% blood transfusion, IVIG, hydration, and iron administration.
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients.
• Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM).
• Floating between similar units may be required.
• Weekend work is not required.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion.
• Local radius for assignment is 50 miles.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Minimum 2 years of infusion nursing experience, including infusion experience within the last year.
• Chemotherapy certification (CHEMO) is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Social Security Card (as applicable).
• Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
• Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report.
• NURSYS license verification required.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work.
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; declination accepted).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; must be updated annually.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer; declination accepted.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer; declination accepted.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols.
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instant tests acceptable.
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use (travel only).
• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required prior to start.
• Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
• References: Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
• Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required.

Certifications

• Chemotherapy certification (mandatory).
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit.
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM, IV Certification, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, Management of Assaultive Behavior) as applicable per unit or specialty requirements.

Additional Requirements

• Must comply with facility float policy acknowledging potential floating to other nearby facilities.
• Must complete Epic training modules as assigned.
• Must comply with state-specific background and registry checks if applicable.

Notes

• Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period.
• No weekend requirement.
• No on-call requirement.
• Local candidates within 50 miles radius preferred.
