Job Opportunity: Oncology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Santa Rosa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position in an Oncology Clinic focusing on Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology.
- Daily responsibilities include administering 6 infusions and performing 1-2 port draws.
- Familiarity with Alaris Infusion Pumps and CADD Ambulatory Pumps is required.
- Oncology certification required (ONCC or ONS).
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred but not mandatory.
- Shift options include various day shifts approximately between 7:45 AM and 6:00 PM.
- No weekend or on-call requirements.
- Locals are accepted.
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
- Start date: ASAP.
- First-time travelers are welcome.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Oncology nursing experience, with Oncology experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association
- Oncology certification (ONCC or ONS)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (as applicable).
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- Education verification for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript.
- NURSYS license verification required.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work.
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background).
Training and Competency
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS.
- EPIC training modules completion may be required depending on facility assignment.
Additional Notes
- Float policy acknowledgment may be required; traveler may be asked to float to nearby facilities.
- References: Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment required.
- No call or weekend shifts required.
