Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Batavia, New York
• 13-week contract
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:00
• 36 hours per week
• 34 beds
• Staffing ratio: 1:9 on all shifts
• Float required to other med/surg units
• Weekend coverage: every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per month
• Local candidates are not accepted; must live more than 75 miles away
• Unit accepts first-time travelers

Patient Population

• Medical/surgical unit with many surgical patients
• Sees joint replacement cases, including hip, knee, and shoulder replacements
• Also sees general surgery cases such as appendectomies, exploratory laparotomies, and hernias
• Takes medical patients who require telemetry
• Cares for adolescents through elderly patients
• Handles SBO patients because it is the only med/surg unit with wall suction

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic
• Government-issued photo ID
• 7-year criminal background check
