RNFA Travel/Contract Job

Location

  • Lodi, California

Schedule

  • Day shift
  • Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
  • After-hours call coverage
  • Call includes nights, weekends, and holidays

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in California
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • CNOR certification
  • Completion of an RNFA program that meets AORN standards
  • First Assist experience within the last year
  • 1 to 2 years of RNFA experience
  • OR - Operating Room experience
  • Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of perioperative nursing experience
  • Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant certification
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization certification

Role Summary

  • Supports operating room patient care by coordinating care among the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and room staff
  • Serves as first assistant during surgical incision, excision, and repair
  • Participates in preoperative assessment and planning
  • Performs circulating and scrubbing duties

  • Current picture identification
  • Background check within 30 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM screening within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG screening within 30 days of start
  • 2 clinical references verified within a year of start
  • Unit-specific skills checklist
  • 7-year work history with locations and gaps included
  • Physical exam within 90 days of start
  • Drug test within 30 days before start
  • Negative TB screening or chest X-ray
  • Tdap vaccination within 10 years or positive titer
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity documentation or declination as specified
  • Color blind testing
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
  • Competency exam
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam
  • Conscious sedation competency exam
  • Annual vaccinations required as a condition of employment, with medical and religious exemptions allowed where applicable

  • Facility-specific onboarding documents and acknowledgements are required before start
  • Onsite training for certain behavior-management certifications may be available at no cost, but time is not paid
