MICU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Rochester, New York
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift: 4x12s, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates are not accepted; must live more than 75 miles away

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Unit Details

• Medical ICU with 16 beds
• Typical patient population includes sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock, CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, with occasional 1:1 assignments based on acuity
