Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Gaffney, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Day shift, 5x8 hours)
• Patient Load: 5-7 patients per day
• Start Date: May
• Call: No call required; however, 1-2 late stays per week to complete cases (no floating outside scope)
• Block scheduling: Not accommodated
• Local candidates: Not accepted (must be at least 75 miles away)
• Pending license accepted if obtained prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of OR Circulate experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications issued by the American Heart Association:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Compliance and Background Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• Social Security Card (if used for I9 verification)
• Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated for renewals
• Education verification of highest nursing degree (associate, bachelor, master, or doctorate)
• Facility-specific documents including photo for badge and compliance checklist
• South Carolina SLED criminal records search required for all candidates

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (facility-specific form required)
• Immunizations or proof of immunity (vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption) for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (3-dose series, 2-dose Heplisav, positive titer, or signed declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined during flu season Nov 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination (Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form)
• Drug screening within 90 days of start (10 panel plus Oxycodone and Marijuana)
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year if respirator use is required

Additional Notes

• Attendance policy: Missing more than two shifts in a 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may lead to contract review or cancellation
• Must submit all requested Return to Office (RTO) dates with initial submission; late requests will not be considered
• Two references required within 3 years of start (Qualivis requirement)
• Skills checklist must be updated annually

This position offers a structured weekday schedule with no call and limited late stays, suitable for OR RNs with at least 2 years of experience and required certifications. First-time travelers are welcome.
